What is the difference between inkjet and UV printers?

The method used to cure the ink or coating is the primary distinction between inkjet and UV printers.

On the surface of the substrate, such as paper, fabric, or vinyl, inkjet printers spray liquid ink. After that, the ink is allowed to dry or cure naturally through evaporation. This can take some time and may call for additional coats or treatments to ensure maximum durability. While inkjet printers can create prints of excellent quality and vibrant color, they are often not appropriate for printing on non-porous surfaces.

On the other hand, UV printers employ more sophisticated inks that have light-activated photoinitiators that cure when exposed to UV light. As a result, prints produced with this technique are more robust and resistant to fading, scratching, and other damage than those produced using regular inkjet technology. UV printers are a more adaptable printing solution for many applications since they can be used to print onto a variety of substrates, including non-porous materials like glass, metal, and plastic.
